July 31, 2015 (Denver) - The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) kicks off its CDHS 2015 Summer Planning Tour next week in an effort to engage with local communities throughout the state, talk about the department’s work, and solicit feedback.
The department’s executive director, Reggie Bicha, and members of the executive management team, will begin the tour Aug. 3 in Burlington with a planning session forum that is open to the public. CDHS will convene the public forum, deliver a presentation on findings and trends in human services throughout the state, and then pose questions to those in attendance to get feedback on the direction and delivery of human services. Topics of discussion will include aging and adult services; child welfare programs; early childhood care and learning; economic security programs; behavioral health services; and data and performance measures. From there the planning tour will move on to Lamar, La Junta, Alamosa, and Durango, all in the first week of August.
“We see this as a great opportunity to get out, meet some of our clients around the state, and get the feedback that is essential to ensuring the effective, efficient and elegant delivery of human and health services across Colorado,” said Bicha of the planning tour.
This is the fifth consecutive year that CDHS leadership has conducted summer tours throughout Colorado. The efforts have resulted in “collaboration between human services administrators and stakeholders, a more complete effort to plan strategically, and a more
accurate course to achieve the Department’s goals for the future,” added Bicha.
