Oct. 1, 2015 - Alamosa, Colo – The Alamosa Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) will host the Alamosa Chamber of Commerce for a “business to business” ribbon cutting on Oct. 7. The ribbon cutting will mark the induction of the Alamosa DVR into the Chamber of Commerce.

The event will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the DVR offices at 305 Murphy Drive, Unit B, Alamosa.

This event is an opportunity for the Alamosa DVR and the Alamosa Chamber of Commerce to work in partnership toward accomplishing DVR’s goal of connecting businesses to people with disabilities.

“We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with the entire San Luis Valley business community,” said David Atkinson, Business Outreach Specialist with the Alamosa DVR.

The Alamosa DVR is committed to helping local employers find candidates who are skilled and committed to the success of businesses. After placement, employers and employees receive ongoing support from DVR's professional staff, including job training, direction on ADA regulations, and information on disability and employment guidelines. DVR can also help with financial incentives and facilitation of tax credits.

Across Colorado and in Alamosa many workers with proven skills are left out of the workplace. As a leading placement organization for people with disabilities, the Alamosa DVR is working to change this by bringing together businesses and people with talent and ability.
For more information on working with DVR as a client or as a business please contact David Atkinson, Business Outreach Specialist, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation at david.atkinson@state.co.us or 719-589-5158.
