Strategic Plan

Strategic Plan

Overview

Approaching its third year, the Scholarship Initiative Advisory Board initiated the review of the initial implementation of the Initiative and asked to develop a plan moving forward through the Hickenlooper administration. The Scholarship Initiative has made a significant impact in Colorado. To date, $27.6 million in state funds have been designated to leverage $14 million in private philanthropic funds.

In spring 2016, Ms. Shelley Banker and Ms. Kate Berg embarked upon a three month strategic planning process to understand the current landscape in which the Initiative exists, evaluate community perceptions of the Initiative through focus groups, and reaffirm the mission and vision established alongside the inception of the Initiative in Fall 2014.  Ms. Banker then presented the findings of the community meetings to the board for discussion, where together, the board and staff developed metrics and annual goals. This strategic plan was confirmed and passed by resolution in October 2016.

This plan represents the final outcome of the process and includes community voices, direction from the Advisory Board, and will guide the next three years of the Initiatives’ work so that Colorado students have an affordable path into the workforce. This strategic plan will guide staff in continuing the momentum and progress -- by building on our successes and what we have learned from our challenges -- allowing us to demonstrate the social impact and value brought by this unique public/private partnership.

We hope you will join the Scholarship Initiative in this important work.
