2017-2018 Awardees

In fiscal year 2017-2018 the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) board approved 48 local scholarship proposals worth $6,791,194 in 1:1 scholarship matches to counties, institutions of higher education and workforce development organizations. The 48 awards represent 46 counties ($4,495,243), 24 institutions of higher education ($1,235,661), and eight workforce programs ($1,060,290). Scholarships are multi-year awards averaging $2,500 depending on program and financial need. The majority of the funds are available for students in the next two to four years.  

In May 2018, the COSI Board also made available $90,000 in supplemental funds for a new reduced-match program for 16 counties. In total it is estimated that about 5,171 additional students will be awarded scholarships through all of these investments.
