ReHire Colorado is a transitional employment program created by the Colorado Legislature in July of 2013, and administered
through the Colorado Department of Human Services. Transitional employment combines wage-paid work, job skills training, and supportive services to help individuals facing barriers to employment succeed in the workforce.
- Help participants address their barriers to employment and prepare for successful work in the unsubsidized labor market;
- Stabilize individuals and their families with immediate earned income and access to incentives such as the Earned Income Tax Credit(EITC);
- Stimulate local economies through taxable wages paid to Transitional Jobs participants;
- Improve the economic health of participant employers.
According to the National Transitional Jobs Network, it is estimated that for every dollar invested into Transitional Jobs Programs, four dollars are reinvested into the local economy.
