Child Youth Mental Health Services - Alfred 

Is a specialist service that provides a range of free mental health outpatient services for infants, children and adolescents under the age of 18 who are experiencing emotional, psychological, or psychiatric problems. Families are involved in the treatment process. Ph: 8552 0555

Headspace - National Youth Mental Health Foundation 

Provides early intervention counselling services for young people aged 12-25 years and their families. Headspace counselling services requires the student to receive a Mental Health Care Plan from their doctor to enable Headspace to claim the service through Medicare. Online support can also be obtained by clicking on the eheadspace component on the Headspace website. Bayside City Council Youth Services 

Provides support for young people aged 10-25 years and their families who have a connection to Bayside. Services include free counselling and support groups, youth events and school holiday programs. Ph: 9599 4622

Family Life - Bayside Counselling Service 

Provides family counselling and parenting support services, as well as individual counselling for children and young people. The closest centers to Star are Sandringham Ph:  8599 5433 or Cheltenham Ph:8599 5433

Provides professional counselling support in the area of school refusal for children and parents. Contact: 0409-024-485

Child First - Family Solutions 

Provides support and advice directly to families, and can assist in referral pathways into the most appropriate service by understanding and assessing each families needs. Ph: 1300 721 383.

Child and Youth Directory

The Child and Youth Directory has been developed by Bayside, Glen Eira, Kingston, Port Phillip and Stonnington Local Government services to support residents in accessing information about services available in their local area. The directory has been designed so that children, youth, and parents can easily access information for a wide range of issues.

Parent Zone - Anglicare 

Parent Zone is a free service that offers support to parents, carers, and grandparents of children aged 0-18 years. The service also offers a range of parenting programs aimed at addressing issues that may be occurring in the family home. For more information click on the

Beyond Blue

Provides information and support for people experiencing mental health issues, as well as for their friends and families. Beyond Blue offers a 24hr support line for people requiring support and advice, as well as online support from 3pm-12am. Support Line: 1300 22 4636

Kids HelpLine

Offers support and counselling for young people aged 13-25. The service can be accessed via their 24hr telephone service on 1300 55 1800, emailing a counsellor via counsellor@kidshelpline.com.au or via their online support service.

Life Line

Offers crisis support and suicide prevention services by contacting the crisis line on: 13 11 11. Lifeline also offers an online crisis chat service from 7pm-12am.
