Hello! My name is Denise Rousso and I am the School Counselor at St. Anne and St. John Schools. This site provides information about the School Counseling Program and counseling topics and resources.
The school counseling programs at St. Anne and St. John have a preventative and proactive focus, and help to facilitate and build student skills around friendship, safety, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and emotional management and regulation. I believe all of the above skills are important to each person's happiness, especially as research continues to support the importance of emotional intelligence for overall success in life!
When not in my office working with students one-on-one or in small groups, you will find me teaching in classrooms, doing student observations in the classroom or on the playground, and doing triage work with parents and/or staff. At St. Anne, I also develop the Student Learning Plans for middle school students with learning differences or special needs, and conduct standardized academic testing as needed.
