Important Dates

March 28: Kindergarten Registration 6:00 pm
April 7: Report Cards

Please sign your child’s Reading Log and Planner everyday. This tells me that you saw the homework (and assisted) and know about class behavior. A smiley in the planner means your child had a great day. If you see a color, a ticket was pulled.

We eat lunch at 11:55-12:25. Lunch can be brought from home or purchased from the school cafeteria. We would LOVE parents to come and eat lunch with their children. It is a great time for you to spend quality time with your child and meet our school family. Don’t forget to sign in at the front office! If you send lunch money with your child, please have the money or check in an envelope with their name on it. This helps the cafeteria staff.

white copy paper
colored copy paper
treasure box items
antibacterial wipes
classroom snack (wrapped)

If your child wants to order a YEARBOOK, please send a check made to Stanfield Elementary PTO for $30 in a sealed envelope or in the paper envelope provided.

It is "that time of year"...please remind your child to blow their nose and wash their hands and cough in their elbow. Also, if they have a FEVER or severe DIARRHEA, please keep them home until well or 24 hours without fever.

What are we learning?

Reading: reading groups (daily), fact and opinion
Math: recognizing and counting money to complete word problems with money
Character Education: citizenship, making friends
Writing: opinion/persuasion pieces
Science: weather
Spelling: Words Their Way (new words each Monday)

How can I help at home?
-make sure your child completes all their homework every day
-establish consistent routines for the
day (bedtime, breakfast, homework, etc.)
-give short simple reminders without criticism
-provide a place to do homework with the supplies needed (reduce clutter)
-maintain positive feedback when completing work with your child (never intimidate if they are "stuck")
-set realistic goals for your child to complete
-work closely with your child's teacher to support learning

Our class has good behavior so far. :-)  Work on listening to all directions and staying quiet during appropriate times. Please discuss behavior at home.

Please sign your child's notebook/planner everyday.

Sort Words Their Way words on Monday and Thursday with your child. On Tuesday and Wednesday, complete an activity from the Spelling Rubric. The more your child practices their words, the better they will spell on Friday. :-)
