Bio
I grew up in Marengo, IL, attending a small private school for K-8 and then the public high school. I was highly involved in bands, whether it be in school, the community, or a youth orchestra. Math and science have always been my favorite subjects and I hope to transfer that passion to my students. I then graduated from Carthage College with a Bachelor’s in Elementary and Special Education with a minor in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics). Student teaching was such a learning and growing experience that I was fortunate enough to complete at Park View Middle School in Mukwonago teaching Project Lead the Way - Robotics, as well as Jefferson Elementary School in Harvard, IL teaching 4th grade special education. I then was able to complete the school year with a full time position as a special education teacher at The Richardson School Beloit, a therapeutic day school. During my available free time I enjoy knitting and reading, having a goal to read 100 books each year for the rest of my lifetime. Through teaching and education, I hope to serve every student in ways to benefit each and every one. Through hands-on and real world activities, the goal is to have students make a connection with what they are learning and gain a passion for it.
