About Miss Schlenk

Hello! I graduated Magna cum Laude from West Chester University in Fall of 2013, with a degree in Early Childhood Education, a reading minor, and I have my certification to teach grades Pre-K-4. I hold a Masters in Education in Literacy, and am a certified Reading Specialist. I also hold a TESOL certification which will enable me to teach students whose first language is something other than English, and I also recently obtained my Principal Certification. I am a 2009 graduate of Garnet Valley High School, and a 2005 graduate of St. Thomas the Apostle, and I am really excited to be working at my Alma mater.

I chose education for my career because I have always wanted to make a difference and help people. I have seen firsthand how much of a difference teachers can make in a child’s life. I have a younger sister who Graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters Degree in Product Design. I am a huge fan of Star Wars, and I love dragons. I love reading, sports, outdoor activities and learning new things. I am very active in the Church as I am a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Sacristan, and a Cantor. While I attended St. Thomas, I was a member of the Track, Basketball, Volleyball, and Forensics Teams, and a member of the Children’s Choir for 7 years, the Concert Band and an Alter Server
