Paid Summer Studentships

The TWOLER project has a number of positions vacant for which we are looking to recruit students to start in June / July 2009.

TWOLER is somewhat different from a regular student employment position, in that whilst we are looking for technically skilled people, what is just as important are students who have their own ideas of what gadgets / mashups they can develop from the RSS feeds being produced by the staff programmers on the project.

There is potential for creative students with ideas to be teamed up with technical students to help deliver the idea.

We will not define the work you will deliver, only the infrastructure and the RSS feeds. ISLS programmers and the project team will be on hand to for you to bounce your ideas off and provide some technical assistance. However what you deliver is in your hands.

Therefore what will be key to your success in gaining a position, will be the ideas you come with. In addition if you have a favourite lecturer or tutor, who you would like develop course or school specific gadgets for – their ideas or yours – that would be an added bonus on your application for the studentship.

Mentoring (Academic Staff)
Academic staff who have a idea that they would like to develop with a student or group of students, whilst acting as a mentor, are also encouraged to contact the project team.
