21 Century Skills are used daily in STEM.  At PTE we have linked each skill to a Texas symbol to support our brand.  In STEM we did a lesson on Technological Literacy being represented by the oil derrick.  In the early 1900's they used their technological literacy skills of innovation, creativity & flexibility to drill for oil.  Every student from kinder to 5th grade engineered an oil derrick.  Here are a few pictures of our work.

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer!  I'm so excited to dive back into our STEM Enrichment.  In STEM Enrichment, students learn, explore and master skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Children at birth are natural scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers. They consider the world around them and try to make sense of it the best way they know how: touching, tasting, building, dismantling, creating, discovering, and exploring. Students will use the engineering process to tackle real life problems. Students will ask questions, imagine, plan, create, and improve. STEM is very engaging, hands-on, collaborative and challenging! We are looking forward to an amazing year were students will grow, learn & acquire 21st Century skills that will take them far in their future!
