                             GUESS WHAT!??                               
We have an AUTHOR VISIT coming up soon for ALL 3rd and 4th grade students!  
Author Christina Soontornvat is coming to talk to us about her first book The Changelings, and how her experience as an Engineer and Science Teacher helped her become a better writer.  The visit will be Tuesday, Feb. 21st.  You can pre-purchase a copy of her book for her to sign for you using the form sent home!  Your book will be at school the day of her visit.  Here is a link to her website:

ABOUT MRS. RUTAN:
  • I have two sons, 12 and 15.  They are in 6th grade and 9th grade and love to read, just like their mom!
  • I have been married to Jeff, my college sweetheart, for 19 years.
  • I have a dog named Lucy and a cat named Kaylee.
  • I have taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades and was an ESL teacher before I became a librarian.  I have been an educator for 23 years.
  • I went to TCU in Ft. Worth for college- GO FROGS!
  • I have too many favorite books to name, but I will give you a few...
Anne of Green Gables series, Little House on the Prairie series, Wizard of Oz series, Harry Potter series, Divergent trilogy, Matched trilogy, Splat the Cat books, anything by Moe Willems, and the Fribble Mouse Library series.

LEF GRANT SPANISH BOOKS!!!

We have received all of the Spanish books I purchased with out generous LEF grant funds!  There are over 140 new books for our Dual Language students to enjoy- JUST LOOK at these happy faces!  
 THANK YOU LEF!!!!

We had an OPEN HOUSE so that all Dual Language classes had a chance to come and look at the new books- it was so much fun! :)
