I have been teaching since 1994.  Wow! Those years go by fast. I have been at High Plains for most of those years as a Special Education Resource Teacher, a Title 1 Coordinator, a Fourth Grade Classroom Teacher, and currently, our building's Digital Learning Coach.  Presently, I'm working in graduate studies courses through the University of Northern Colorado toward a certification in teaching Gifted and Talented learners.

I am a lifelong learner, so my special interests change with time. Lately, I am most interested in coding, robotics, project-based learning and best practices of student-centered instruction. I aim to teach our learners the skills they'll need to prepare for thriving in the 21st century: communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. These are the "4 C's" of 21st Century learning.

I love spending time with my two sons, Christian and Seth, and my husband, Jim.  DIY projects, reading novels, cooking, making things, and collecting all things geeky are some favorite activities to do in my spare time.

I. LOVE. High Plains Elementary School. I love our loyal families, our dedicated staff members, and most of all, the students whose smiling faces I am privileged to support and learn with daily. I believe that we are all naturally good at some things and, with hard work and persistence, there is always room to grow. My  passion lies in helping others finding and growing greatness in themselves. I am very fortunate that both my passion and my responsibility centers on finding ways to make student-centered learning happen in our school.

I believe that we all do better together. Together, we WORK HARD and GET SMART. Together, we HOWL!
