A Warm Welcome to Caterpillar Class

Our topic this term is...

Tell me a tale!
This will be a celebration of great children's literature, stories and poems we all love to enjoy!

Take a look at an overview of our Learning Journey in Term 5...

This term the children will be sharing and enjoying books they love!

We will be having fun looking at silly and funny books to capture and inspire those little imaginations! We are going to discover Authors we think are great and using these rich texts to inspire our own writing.

After all... a love of reading lasts a lifetime.

We will be looking at 'Spring Time' poetry .

Make sure you are signed up to 'MarvellousMe', a helpful app that enables you to receive notes regarding Caterpillar class learning and events.

If you have any questions regarding this

please contact the school office.

A helping hand for home learning! These are the correct sounds for each grapheme. Going through these daily with your child will help embed the sounds they will need to know. Try and spot them in your reading books!

Please read daily with your child, we will be sending books home for you to enjoy. Research shows reading with your child is one of the most important things you can do for their education, well-being and future success. Reading spans every subject, helps with emotional development, overcoming challenges and critical thinking skills.

Reading in class...
We will be reading an exciting range of
books and poems in class.
The children will be helping 'Infurry-Rabbit' with his inference skills, he listens to the story in his burrow but doesn't pop up until the end!
The children are challenged to help him understand the story
by 'reading the picture' and explaining what has happened.
