                   Sixth Grade Scope and Sequence

Introduction to Sixth Grade Science

The student will demonstrate an understanding of technology/design and scientific inquiry, including process skills, mathematical thinking, controlled investigative design and analysis and problem solving.

The student will demonstrate an understanding of the life activities of living things and how living things are organized.

The student will demonstrate an understanding of structures, processes, and responses of animals that allow them to survive and reproduce.

The student will demonstrate an understanding of the major systems of the human body and how each system is linked.  The students will demonstrate an understanding of how hormones affect the human body over time.

The student will demonstrate an understanding of structures, processes, and responses of plants that allow them to survive and reproduce.

The student will demonstrate an understanding of the definition of the term biological diversity.  The student will be able to understand the impact of ecological changes in both plant and animal species.
