Geospatial/Geographic Information Systems Technology

The SRHS GIS program is a 3 year program with a core course of Introduction to Information Technology in 9th grade.
Course progression:
 9th Grade:   Introduction to Information Technology             
10th Grade:  Introduction to GIS/RS Technology                      
11th Grade:  Essential GIS Tools & Processes    
12th Grade:  GIS Analysis & Modeling                                      
Students are provided instruction in GIS (Geographic/Geospatial) Information Systems, GPS (Global Positioning Systems) and Remote Sensing technology, which is an organized collection of computer hardware, specialized software, and geographic data designed to capture, store, update, manipulate, analyze, and display all forms of geographically referenced information. Students can become industry certified GIS Technicians.
