Maria Stefas Pre-AP Math 6/Math 7 /Math 8/Algebra 1

Greeting to all of you!

My name is Maria Stefas, and I will be your child's Mathematics teacher this year! I wanted to take a few moments to introduce myself to you and to explain some of the goals that I have for the year.. I will be teaching Pr-AP Math 6, Math 7, Math 8 and Algebra 1 for H.S credit. I'm also the Mathletes coach.. I taught at the High School level Algebra 1 Geometry, Algebra II and College Algebra for 4 years. For the last 15 years I was teaching math 6,math 7,math 8 and Algebra 1

. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Math Education from Northeastern Illinois University at Chicago Ill.

My goals for the upcoming year are: 1. To create an environment in which all students fell comfortable and are expected to do their absolute best

2. To motivate and challenge all of my students toward educational and personal growth

3. To develop the creative talents of all students

4. To provide all students with opportunities to develop their self-esteem and self- confidence

Our classroom will be one in which extremely high expectations will motivate us to become cooperative,disciplined and curious students. I am anxious to make this a positive learning experience for your child.
