Unit 1 Laws and Criminology
In this unit students will learn about the history and evolution of the laws in our criminal justice system. They will also learn about the causes and effects of crimes on our society. This unit provides the basis for the other unit that they will study throughout the rest of this course. This unit will extend into the second six weeks due to the amount of information that is covered.
2nd Six Weeks
This six weeks students will complete their law and criminology unit. They will begin the law enforcement unit. In this unit students will study the history of american law enforcement and learn about how law enforcement works today. They will be involved in practical training as well as standard classroom instruction. They will learn about the use of modern technology in criminal investigations. They will also learn about the educational requirements and training that is received by persons entering the law enforcement profession.
3rd Six Weeks
This six weeks the students will complete the law enforcement unit that they began in the second six weeks.
