Welcome/Intro

Welcome to my class!!

Hello!!! My name is Ms. Lisa Davis. I have ten years experience in education, and my Bachelors degree is in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Downtown. This year, I am serving as the Adaptive Behavior teacher for our campus. I am certified to teach all core subjects for grades 4-8, English Language Arts and Reading 8-12, Special Education EC-12 and ESL.

My inspiration to teach is driven from having excellent teachers when I was in school, that made learning fun and interesting. It motivates me to share the love of learning with our future....our children!!! It is never too early to begin preparing our students to take it to the next level, and I am honored to assist them embark on this journey!! I am extremely excited about helping your child advance their academic career in my class!

Supplies

To be successful in this course, you will need to bring your ID badge, a writing utensil and paper. All work must be submitted in either pencil, blue or black ink only. A spiral or composition notebook is requested for warm-ups and journal entries is required, and will be kept in the classroom. Students should have access to a dictionary and a thesaurus (online is acceptable) for homework assignments.

My conference time is on 4th period (1pm - 2:12pm) on Black days and on 10th period (2:17pm - 3:30pm) on Gold days. As a parent, what can I do to help?

Thanks for asking!! Please make sure your child brings supplies to class daily and has completed any homework assignments given.

If your child is absent, please remind them that is it THEIR responsibility to ask for the missing work. They will have an additional two days from the date of return to submit any missing work before any penalties are accrued. Late assignments will accrue an 11 point deduction per day after the third day.

If there are any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me right away. I firmly believe that with you, your child and myself working on the same team, we can ensure your child's success!!!
