Ms. Birdow's Fourth Grade Class

4th grade

Welcome to online class!!!!

This is my 17th year of teaching and I continue to be inspired by my students year after year. I want to help them become better readers and great leaders. Furthermore, I want them to love reading, writing and social studies.

Most importantly, I want them to know that "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams" Eleanor Roosevelt

Fourth Grade is Great!

I have some very exciting things planned this year, including a career day, I am looking forward to working with you for your child's success.

Reading Tips for Fourth Grade!

Please have your child read daily. Have them choose fun books from the library that they enjoy reading. This will continue to help build your child's fluency and comprehension. Please continue to ask your child those guiding reading questions about their reading selections so they are receiving comprehension help, as well.

Semester Objectives:

This semester we will be learning about how to use context to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words. The students will also learn to use informational text to make inferences about text and use textual evidence to support understanding.
