Mr. Muir's Classes

Contact Information

  • Email:
  • Email works best because Mr. Muir can reply back to you when he is not teaching.
  • Phone Number: 541-744-6356
  • Contacting Mr. Muir by phone is difficult because most of the time he is teaching.  To contact Mr. Muir by phone try calling him before school (7:45-8:05) or after school (3:10-3:30).

With many students in a class, it is difficult for Mr. Muir to discuss problems with individual students that are not directly related to the lesson of the day.  If you need extended help on an assignment, need to find out what you missed when you were gone, or have a problem to discuss, it is best to do this outside of class.  Good times to talk individually to Mr. Muir are before and after school, and also sometimes passing time between classes might work as well.  Mr. Muir has meetings and duties that can happen before or after school, so if it is important for you (or your parents) to meet at a specific time, schedule it in advance.

About Mr. Muir

Ben Muir grew up in Philomath, Oregon and attended college at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon where he majored in biology.  During college Ben conducted surveys of insects in Washington and Oregon with scientists at OSU and the Forest Service.  He also studied how an endangered orchid grows with a professor at Lewis & Clark.  After school he was a science instructor for OMSI science camps and outdoor schools.  Later Ben moved to West Virginia where he taught at an after school program and an ecology center.  He then received his masters degree in secondary science education from Columbia University in New York City and subsequently taught 6th grade science in the Bronx, New York.  More recently, Ben taught at Meadowview School in Eugene and began teaching at Hamlin in 2008.
