Congratulations to the Sportsplex Thunder for winning The Gold Division at the Dallas Juniors' Presidents' Day Tournament!
Sportsplex Performance League
the Performance League we are teaching the girls what they need to know
to be able to play volleyball at the next level. The next level does
not necessarily mean "Club Volleyball", it could mean playing for the
Junior High or High School team. At each level we are focusing on
different aspects of the game and preparing the girls to be future
the first year in the Performance League our main focus is to teach the
fundamentals and to build a strong foundation. We teach a basic
rotation and focus on getting 3 touches.
the girls have a good grasp of the basics we begin to incorporate
substitutions and new rotations. We teach different formations (ex. 4-2,
6-2 and 5-1) and begin to train the girls in their specific position
(Setter, Outside Hitter/Left Side Hitter, Middle Hitter, Opposite
Hitter/Right Side Hitter and Libero/Defensive Specialist).
7th & 8th Grade
the girls get to 7th grade they understand the basics of the game and
are preparing to play in Junior High for their school. At this time we
continue to work on new offenses and defenses and fine tune positions.
you or your daughter have questions about what is expected of them and
what the team is working on we encourage you to talk to your coach. The
coaches will explain the rotations and substitutions that they are
form teams of individuals dedicated to learning the game of volleyball,
through skills and games, with the guidance of excellent coaching in a
controlled and positive atmosphere"
