South Salem High School recognized by the National Athletic Trainers Association!

After months of hard work, South Salem High School joined three other schools in the state to be recognized by the National Athletic Trainers Association as a 1st Team, Safe Sports School.  The Safe Sports School Award recognizes secondary schools that take the crucial steps to keep their athletes free from injuries.  What that means is, the staff and coaches at South Salem are doing their very best to make sure that all athletes are safe and healthy.  For more information on the Safe Sports School Award, click here to visit the site.

Everybody knows that there are risks involved in playing sports, and when we play sports, we accept that element of risk.  Nobody ever plans on getting hurt, but, it happens from time to time.  At South Salem High School, and all the other high school's in the Salem-Keizer School District, there is a  Certified Athletic Trainer available to assist your student-athlete with the care, prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of their athletic injury or illness.  This website was designed for parents, athletes, and coaches to get information about the Saxon Sports Medicine Program.  Inside you will find valuable information, hand-outs, policies, and much more.  

Mission Statement

 The South Salem Sports Medicine program is dedicated to providing the outstanding Saxon student-athletes with the opportunity to prevent, treat, and rehabilitate their injuries, in addition to providing an atmosphere that promotes the total development of the individual.
