2007 Funded List

The South Salem High School Saxon foundation wishes to announce funding for grant request made by Teachers during the fall grant request period.

Mr. Dave Hanus
reimbursement for serial card for Microelectronics Club to benefit robotics and programming students has been approved. 

Mr. Jon Ballantyne (Science) 
speakers for InFocus machine for the science department has been approved. 

Mr. Jason Neidermeyer (Biology) 
animals for the Animal Behavior and IB Biology classes has been approved. 

Mr. Brian Eriksen (Clypian Newspaper Advisor) 
purchase of Intous 6 x 8 tablet for computer art work from Wacom has been approved. 

Mr. Brian Sund (Special Ed/Life Skills) 
electronic reading pen which scans written material and provides verbal output and language translation has been approved. 

Ms. Christine Williams (EGC Classroom) 
plastic sorter and wall mount reference starter to organize the room has been approved. 

Ms Jennifer Harris-Clippinger (Social Studies/Foreign Language) 
wireless router, an extra battery, and an external battery charger has been approved. This grant is approved pending review and selection by technology department. 

Mr. Steve Osborn (Special Ed/Life Skills) 
set of 15 Strong Teen Textbooks has been approved pending a review to be sure that this item is not eligible for textbook purchase through the regular school budget. 

Ms. Katie Gilmour (Art) 
InFocus Projector, splitter, and cable for the Art History classes has been approved pending review and model selection by technology department. 

Ms Kimberly Miller (English) 
purchase of 35 copies of the book “Nickel and Dimed” On (Not) Getting By In America by Barbara Ehrenreich has been approved. This grant is approved pending a review to be sure that this item is not eligible for textbook purchase through the regular school budget. 


Grand total of $3561.72 for the Fall grants.

Over the last year the Saxon Foundation has help bring over $10,000 to various classrooms. The Saxon Foundation is an academic organization run by parents that has an established 501-c non-profit organization.
