Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) - $500 and $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing a certificate of completion or education in a construction-related field. for application. Deadline March 30, 2018.

The Blue Eagle Halterman Memorial Scholarship - Honoring the remembrance of Blue Halterman with a $500 to $1,000 scholarship to a deserving Soroco High School graduate. Participation in sports, FFA, graphic arts, cooking, music, animal sciences, teaching with at least a 2.5 GPA. 300-500 word essay stating career goals and dreams and why you would be a good candidate for this scholarship. Burg Simpson Scholarship - 9 $1,000 and $2,500 scholarships available to graduating Colorado high school seniors who win the essay competition regarding the importance of the civil jury system and how it is being threatened. Deadline is February 2, 2018

Christensen & Hymas General Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship available for student with 3.5 or higher GPA. Deadline for submission is August 1, 2018.

Civil Design Consultants, Inc. - Scholarship of up to $1,000 for qualified student who is actively pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar science. Colorado 4-H Foundation - Several scholarships are available to past and present 4-H members.  Due April 1, 2018.

Colorado Council on High School/College Relations - To encourage and reward college-bound youth who likewise are committed to volunteerism and community service, the Council awards $1,500 one-time scholarships to 16 deserving Colorado high school seniors each year to assist with defraying the cost of tuition and fees at one of the member institutions. Applicants must be graduating high school senior, U.S.citizen or permanent resident of CO for final 2 years of high school, enrolled as full-time student at a Colorado Council Member Institution within 6 months of graduating from high school, demonstrate significant experience in community service, have a minimum 2.5 gpa. Deadline January 29, 2018

Colorado County Clerks Association (CCCA)The Colorado County Clerks Association has established a scholarship fund to aid outstanding high school seniors who are residents of Colorado in furthering their education at any university, college, junior college, or technical institution. Regional one-time scholarships are awarded in the amount of $1,000 to seniors. Selection is  based on a minimum 3.25 grade point average (GPA), participation in extracurricular, community and service activities and demonstrated financial need.

Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition (CCCC) - $1,500 scholarship to be awarded to Routt or Moffat County senior.  Submit an original piece of writing inspired by our Greater Sandhill Cranes to the annual Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition Writing Competition. The Colorado Farm Show Scholarships - Several scholarships available for students involved in agriculture. Due 11/1/ 

Colorado Masons' Benevolent Fund Association - The scholarships are for up to $10,000 per year, renewable for four years for a total of $40,000 and are awarded primarily for leadership, maturity, need, and scholastic ability without reference to race, creed, color, sex, or Masonic relationship. Applicant must be US citizen, graduating public high school senior and plan on attending an institution of higher learning within the State of Colorado. This scholarship is renewable annually up to four years to a maximum of $40,000.  Applications due to state offices before March 1, 2018 so apply early enough for personal interview.

Colorado Press Association High School Scholarship  - Up to two $1,500 scholarship awards will be awarded to graduating high school seniors from Colorado high schools who have been active and held a leadership position in their high school's newspaper, media club, or yearbook. Application due February 28,2018.

Colorado Water Officials Association (CWOA) Division 6 Scholarship - $500 scholarship. Due . Click here for information and application.

Colorado Young Farmers Educational Association -  Students who will be majoring in agriculture. Due March 15 

County Sheriffs of Colorado - Routt county residents may apply this year for a $500 scholarship.  Application should be mailed to Routt County Sheriff's office.  Deadline for consideration is February 23, 2018.

Daniels Fund-Boundless Opportunity Scholarship - To be eligible, an applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States, and a legal resident of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate the need for financial assistance to reach their educational goals.  Each school or training provider chooses to offer the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship to one or more of these student populations: former foster care youth, former juvenile justice youth, individuals pursuing EMT/paramedic training, individuals pursuing Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification, individuals training for certain high-demand careers through select training programs. for information.

Ditchfest Scholarship -

Doak Walker Memorial Endowment Scholarship - Up to $1,500 awarded to one male and one female student from each high school in Routt and Moffat Counties.  Scholarship recipients should reflect Doak's characteristics of citizenship, leadership, sportsmanship and academic achievement. Fry Freiberger Scholarship - $500 awarded to a graduate of Soroco High School who will be attending college in the state of Colorado.  You must submit an essay no longer than one page about a living person who, in your opinion, exemplifies good leadership (should be neither a  relative nor Routt County resident), explain your choice, discuss qualities you would like, or not like, to develop in yourself. Submit to Mrs. Jackson by April 30, 2017. 3 finalists will then submit academic records and other pertinent information you would like the judges to consider.

Glenn Werner Memorial Scholarship - $600 for Routt County high school students who are planning to attend a two-or four-year College or vocational school.  Applicants who plan to pursue an agricultural field of study are given priority. Due April 25, 2017.

Hansen Injury Law Firm Scholarship - $1,000 for induvudual whose life has been negatively impacted by a car crash, bicycle accident or other events leading to personal injuries. GPA of 3.5 or higher. Deadline for submission is August 1, 2017.

Horatio Alger Scholarship - Up to $25,000 available for high school senior who displays integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity. Requires a minimum GPA of 2.0 and demonstrate a critical financial need. To learn more and apply, visit

Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program - Up to $2,500 for a student to pursue a career or technical program at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.  The application is now available for students who will be enrolled in a post-secondary program in Fall 2017.  First application deadline is June 15, 2017.

The Independent Bankers of Colorado (IBC) Education Foundation Scholarship - at least two (2) $1,000 one-year scholarships. This is a statewide scholarship contest. Student must have applied to and will attend a public or private university or college, junior or community college or vocational/trade school. GPA of 3.0. Student must attend a Colorado or contiguous state, public or private university or college, junior or community college or vocational/trade school after high school graduation.The student or parent(s)/guardian(s) must have a banking relationship at an IBC member bank or branch (Alpine Bank) for at least six months. Deadline for submission to your bank is .

J. Robert Young Scholarship - $1,000 The scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors from public high schools in areas served by Alpine Bank. Scholarships are based on financial need and are awarded to students seeking a business-related degree, who have a grade point average of 2.75 or above and plan to attend a college in Colorado. Deadline is .

Kenny Corriveau Trade Scholarship - Awarded for the purpose of advancing education in the trades for individuals ages 17 to 25 to attend a trade, college or university institution. Due April 6, 2018.

The Kit Faragher Memorial Scholarship - Created in 2003 to honor the memory of Kathleen "Kit" Faragher who lost her life in the tragic events of 9/11.  Three scholarships awarded to support  Colorado high school students with GPA of 2.5, in need of financial assistance and who capture Kit's essence by demonstrating a positive attitude, strong commitment and a drive towards accomplishment. $2,500 for 2 years for a total of $5,000. Due in May.

Levi Hampton Memorial Scholarship - In memory of Levi Hampton, up to $1,000 to be awarded to a SoRoCo High School graduating Senior. The purpose is to help the student who truly wants to attend college but may not be on the top tier and hence their talent, tenacity and wit are not always recognized by other scholarship programs.  Deadline April 6, 2018.

Lift Up Hope for the Future Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship awarded to a graduating student enrolled or planning to enroll in a college, vocational or trade school. Preference will be given but not limited to students in a low-income family.  Due by April 15, 2018. Click here for information and application.

Louis and Wilma Rossi Family Scholarship - $500 awarded to a Soroco High School senior who has participated in FFA for three years. Due April 15, 2018. Chapter FFA application.

Masonic Lodge Education Grant - For students pursing a 2-4 year degree or attending a trade school. 2 $500 scholarships depending on lodge finances. Apply well before .  Click here for application

The Mayflower Scholarship - Criteria for selection includes a short written essay on the Mayflower on the topic listed in the application. You do not have to be a descendant of a Mayflower traveler. Application due February 1, 2017. 

Monica Olson Veterinarian Scholarship - Scholarships for Routt and Moffat County students indicating an interest in studying pre-veterinary. Due April 6, 2018.

National Co-Op Scholarship - 175 merit scholarships, totaling $4.5 million to students applying to one of ten institutions listed on the website. Visit the website for more information and deadlines.

RBC Wealth Management Colorado Scholarship - This highly competitive scholarship is intended to reward students for exceptional achievement, above and beyond their peers. Five $3,000 scholarships are awarded each year to students intending to pursue a degree in science, mathematics, or engineering. Due March 5, 2017. Contact Emily Stanley at with questions.

Redefining Ready! National Scholarship 2018 lets America's graduating seniors tell the world how they are college, career and life ready beyond a single test score. Examples include completion of an internship, AP or dual credit classes while in high school; near-perfect attendance; or participation in clubs, sports and school activities. The story must be told via a 30-second video posted online.  Information on criteria and where to send scholarship application videos will be posted by March 1, 2018. Robert Welborn Scholarship - Scholarships to Routt and Moffat County students attending a trade or vocational school or pursuing a career in engineering or the sciences. Due April 6, 2018.

Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs - There will be six district undergraduate $2,000 scholarships awarded. Deadline to submit to by March 31, 2018. Click here for information.

Rotary Foundation (district/global) -   District undergraduate $2,000 scholarship; Global graduate $30,000 scholarship for students who want to study in one of Rotary's six areas of focus:   Water and Sanitation, Disease Treatment and Prevention, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Economic and Community Development, Education and Literacy, Maternal and Child Health.  Deadline for these 2 scholarships is February 28, 2018. Routt County 4-H Scholarship Foundation - The Foundation offers 9 different types of scholarships for high school and continuing education students who have been active in 4-H. Deadline for application is April 7, 2018.

Routt County Cattlewomen Scholarship - Student must be a resident of Routt County and a member of a family currently involved in Routt County beef production or pursuing a degree related to or benefiting the beef industry. Deadline April 6, 2018.

Routt County Conservation District Scholarship - $500 for Routt County high school students who are planning to attend a two-or four-year College or vocational school.  Applicants who plan to pursue an agricultural field of study are given priority. Due April 25, 2017.

Routt County Sheriff - $500 scholarship to student attending college or vocational institute. Deadline .

Sara Lindsey Memorial LOVIN’ LIFE - Sara Lindsey loved life with a passion for, commitment to, and investment in others. She believed that love was a choice, not a feeling, expressed in value for individuals and acts of service. Her legacy will endure in the recipients of this annual scholarship given in her memory. Special District Association Scholarship - Applicant must show an interest in Water and Sanitation Services, Fire Protection Services, Parks and Recreation Administration, Library Administration, Health Services Administration or a related local government field. for application.  Due . 

Steamboat Chamber Y.E.S. Scholarship

The Steamboat Chamber hosts a golf tournament each June. Through this golf tournament and the generosity of local businesses and individuals, they are able to award these funds to deserving individuals.

Steamboat Kiwanis/J. Scott Welles Memorial Scholarship - Provided to students who demonstrate a commitment to providing a better community, county and world in which to live. Due March 31, 2017

Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation Scholarship - Scholarships are based on a 500-word essay, academic achievement, school involvement/extra-curricular activities, community service, financial need and accomplishments related to all disciplines of snow sports.  Renewable. Due April 6, 2018.

Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors - $500 scholarship will be based on financial need, participation and leadership in the community, and grade point average.  Application due

Steamboat Springs Volunteer Firemen's Scholarship - Two scholarships: The Rusty Chandler Memorial Scholarship is granted to a high school senior and emphasizes community service. The Dave Linner Memorial Scholarship is to a high school senior entering the EMS or medical related fields. Due April 6, 2018.

Steve Maloney Memorial Scholarship - Athletic Scholarship awarded to seniors. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded annually to athletes who are passionate about running and their sport of choice. Due April 6, 2018

Summit Disability Law Group Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship to student attending college or university in the US, 3.5 or higher GPA, physician documented disability. Deadline for submission is August 1, 2017.

Vernon Sumner Scholarship - Awarded to a Soroco High School senior who has participated in FFA for three years. Due . Chapter FFA application.

Wayne Swanson Scholarship for CMC -  a number of scholarships of $2500 to incoming freshman.  Priority given to students from schools in Routt County to attend any CMC campus. Current graduates of high schools located in Routt County attending any CMC Campus, 2.5 minimum GPA; renewable for one additional year based on minimum 2.5 GPA.  Two letters of recommendation. The deadline is Wednesday, March 1st.

Wes Milway Memorial Scholarship - The family of Wes Milway wishes to honor the remembrance of their son/brother by offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating Soroco High School graduate. Western Colorado Angus Association - $750 scholarship for student from Western Colorado planning an agriculturally related career.  Due April 21, 2017

Y.E.S. (Youth Education Scholarship) Three scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to 3 graduating seniors in Routt County.
