The Vocal Music Department at SEPHS presents three concerts per year in addition to a Dessert Theatre and Vocal Music Banquet. Vocal students are routinely accepted into the All-State Chorus and ISU Honor Choir, among other choral festivals. The department travels regularly, and has made recent trips to Orlando, Washington, D.C., and New York City. Graduates of Southeast Polk have gone on to study music at the post-secondary level and are using their talents as teachers, arrangers, and performers throughout the United States. With six ensembles, the Vocal Music Department is able to offer a wide range of choral experiences and strives to educate students on the history and evolution of vocal music, with emphases on healthy singing and music literacy.
