Message from the Parents Association

The end of the year certainly has come quickly but there are still wonderful things happening at SSA.  The Grapevine fundraiser and parent donations supported the funding for “stage one” materials of the fence project.  Thank you to Phil Snyder and crew for the installation.  Thank you to all of our parents, volunteers, and SSA staff for helping us with our first Winter Shopping Boutique.   A great big thanks also goes out to our vendors at the boutique - Kim Swierczewski (Gold Canyon Candles), Kim Maisto (Avon), Asia Cook (ohsoprettybyasia.com), Amy Buller (decorated oranges), and Belma Marshall (decorative, scrumptious smelling soaps).  Have a fun, safe and healthy holiday season and we will see you next year!  Stay warm!

Elementary Library
Please consider donating your Bookman's credits to the library.  With the start of our new "Mobile Library" we are in a great need for new books.  Teachers have expressed an interest in class sets which the library currently does not have.  Please drop off your credits in the desinated box in front of the Elementary office.  If you would like to help out in the library either with shelving, barcoding, or reading to classes please contact Kristen Buttigieg at kbuttigieg@sonoranacademy.org.

           Read-A-Thon

With the success of the Read-A-Thon and increase in donations we were able to add Amazon Kindles for the top fundraisers and readers at the MS/HS and Elementary as well as an increased number of prizes. The money will be used towards the continued effort to enrich our students.  Thank you to Nova Home Loans, Maxam Realty Advisors, Pump It Up, Fiesta Lanes, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, and Burger King for your donations.  Our top readers were Kaia Shepard (4th) and Sonny Nguyen (7th). Our top fundraiser were Alexandra Centeno (5th) and Erika Kirkpatrick (6th).  They each won an Amazon Kindle and a $25 Amazon gift card.  A $50 gift card went to Payson Mayerle (7th), $25 gift cards went to Talon Bennett (5th) and Megan Newton (1st), and $5 Bookman’s gift cards went to Ana Ray (5th), Shayla Kelly (4th), Nadia Schmitter (1st) and Jade Kelly (Kindergarten)
