Attendees can expect to learn about regional workforce development and how everyone in the region has a role. They can expect to learn more specifically about their role and what they can do right now to help create the next generation of STEM workforce.
Presenter Bio:
Dr. Cassie B. Barlow joined the Wright State Research Institute (WSRI) in 2014 as Executive Director of the Wright State University Aerospace Professional Development Center (APDC). Shortly after, she assumed additional roles when she was named Executive Director of the Center for Workforce Development at Wright State University that includes the Aerospace Professional Development Center and the Regional STEM Collaborative.

These operations, led by Dr. Barlow, are laser focused on workforce development needs across Ohio, primarily in the aerospace and defense industry and STEM disciplines. Dr. Barlow is familiar with leading multiple activities. Prior to joining WSRI, She was the 88th Air Base Wing and Installation Commander, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB), OH. In that role, she commanded one of the largest air base wings in the Air Force with more than 5,000 Air Force military, civilian, and contractor employees. Dr. Barlow retired from active duty with the US Air Force as a colonel in 2014.

Dr. Barlow was commissioned in 1988 as a distinguished graduate of Georgetown University, Washington, DC. Following graduation, she attended Information Management Technical School at Keesler AFB, MS.

Dr. Barlow earned a Bachelor of Psychology degree from Georgetown University, Washington, DC; Master of Clinical Psychology degree from Chapman University, Orange County, CA; and Ph.D. from Rice University, Houston, TX. She also earned master degrees in Military Operational Art and Science, Air Command and Staff College, AL, and in National Security, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Washington, DC.
