Winsor Walk-A-Thon!

posted Sep 15, 2017, 11:22 AM by Jennifer Ross

The Winsor Wildcat Walk-A-Thon is expected to be the PTO’s main fundraiser of the year! It’s a way to get the kids outside to get some fresh air with their classmates while walking to help support the programs, assemblies and events for Winsor students. It’s also our idea for an alternative to a catalog fundraiser. 100 % of the money raised stays with the PTO.

General info

This is event that will take place on school grounds between 1:15 and 2:30 in the afternoon.

Each grade will walk together for 20-30 minutes.  ALL students will be walking!

Wear your Winsor shirt or class color (K – yellow, 1st grade – red, 2nd grade – orange, 3d grade – purple, 4th grade – green, 5th grade -  blue), comfortable walking shoes, and sunscreen. Bring a water bottle.

Welcome Back!

posted Sep 5, 2017, 6:22 AM by Jennifer Ross

Good Afternoon Winsor,

It has been our distinct pleasure to welcome back all of our students this week. We are especially enthused to have a new cohort of Kindergarten students at our school. Also, we want to extend greetings to all of our new students in other grades. Please know we are an open community of learners and a true neighborhood school, always hospitable to new students and families.

As has become a tradition, each Friday afternoon I will send an email message. This message will, in the coming weeks, provide a snapshot of learning activities that occur in the classroom each week. This message is great to discuss with students over dinner or perhaps a walk around the neighborhood. Our vision involves keeping families informed of all the wonderful activities that take place each week. We believe that a strong home/school relationship is a foundational piece of our educational mission.

I am also pleased to announce that the PTO's Late Breaking News document (LBN) will also be attached to this email. In an effort to conserve resources, the LBN will no longer be printed in hard copy form on a regular basis. Should this present an issue, please contact the school to discuss an alternative arrangement.

As many families have asked about VIP training in order to chaperone school events, I am pleased to announce that VIP training will be offered next week: Thursday (9/7) @ 3:30pm in the Winsor library. We look forward to welcoming a new group of parent volunteers.

Our opening week has been outstanding. We are so excited to have our students back and anticipate another outstanding year. We hope everyone has a great long weekend! Thank you for being our partners in education.
