The Smithfield High School Graduation Portfolio has been designed to help students present a collection of work that documents a student’s educational performance over time. It is also a collection of evidence demonstrating that a student has achieved the school’s academic expectations and the state’s required proficiencies. Student evidence for the portfolio is generated mostly through the completion of department designed Course Common Tasks. Students will select common tasks that demonstrate proficiency in the school’s academic expectations and core content areas. The portfolio will also include community service activities, individual learning plan evidence, student reflections and a final evaluation by a panel of trained reviewers. This senior portfolio planning guide describes for students, parents, faculty, and the community the requirements connected to the organization and completion of a successful graduation portfolio.
