General Information

While the Band Program is an excellent opportunity for students to continue their studies in music, it is also a commitment. Students will receive a grade for Band based on their participation, their progress in class, and the amount of times they have practiced outside of school. Students will be given a practice chart where parents must initial each day students have practiced. It is expected that students practice 4-5 days after school for at least 15-20 minutes.

Students will be required to bring their instrument and their method book for their scheduled lessons. Please note that if your child forgets to bring their instrument to school, or is missing any of the required materials that are needed for their lesson, it will result in being unprepared. No phone calls asking to bring instruments or materials needed for Band will be permitted. Students that forget their instrument or are unprepared for their lessons numerous times may result in dismissal from the Band Program. If students wish to no longer participate in Band, a written letter and/or phone call from a parent/guardian is requested.
