Thespian Points Form
Whenever you earn new points, please complete this form and turn it in to the Point's Box in Mr. Barbato's room (F02).

An ITS Guide to the Points System
The above document contains guidelines on how many points are generally awarded for the different roles in One-Act / Full-Length productions.  However, please remember that these are just guidelines.  The point values listed in the guide can be adjusted slightly - up or down - as needed.  Mr. Barbato always has the final say in how many points are awarded.

** In addition to what is contained in the document above, Troupe 7107 uses the following guidelines:
    - Monologues etc. for Cabaret/Talent Show etc.: 1pt
    -
Dedication: 1pt
    -
Senior Cloak: 2pts
    - Attending the
State Festival: 2pts (+1 for participating in IE's; additional points for one-act competition etc.)
    - Pit Band performances at LHS should earn 5 points. (Instead of 3)
    - Understudies in a completely double-cast, full-length show should earn ~5 points. (Instead of 2)

    - When submitting points from before high school, you may submit up to 5 points from the time you began middle school up to the time you began high school. (The summer before high school does not count as part of high school.)
    - When submitting points for attending
a performance: 1pt for Professional; 1/2pt for Amateur - and must include a written report/critique from either a performance or technical perspective. (~2 pages for Professional; ~1pg for Amateur.)  Must be submitted within 2 months of seeing the show.

Thespian Requirements To be inducted:

Must earn 10 points
-5 of which must be earned at LHS
Must participate (at LHS) in at least:
  -2 full length productions,
-1 full length & 2 one acts, or
  -4 one acts

You may earn up to 5 points through participation in community, children’s or professional theatre, in Middle School theatre, or in other activities in the performing arts.

Membership will be awarded to all students who qualify. No student can be elected into the troupe and no student can be denied membership if he or she has fulfilled all membership requirements.

A student member must maintain satisfactory standards of membership as set forth by the constitution of the troupe, the EdTA governing board, and local school policies. A student may be suspended or expelled from the troupe by the troupe director.
To remain inducted:

Article IV, Section 4:
-Any member who is absent four meetings per school year, four rehearsals during a current production, unless they have an excuse valid by the troupe director or who does not participate in a current production, which would earn one or more points shall be dropped from active membership.
-Any member who causes deliberate dissention, which would disrupt the workings of any production or business meetings, shall be dropped from active membership by a vote of two-thirds of the membership with the consent of the troupe director. Any member requesting readmittance after suspension must have the consent of the troupe director and two-thirds of the membership.

Bylaws: Article I, Section 3:
Irregular attendance indicates a lack of interest; therefore any member absent four (4) meetings per school year without a written excuse is suspended.
-A suspended student may not participate in the activities of any Thespian troupe nor attend Thespian conferences during the period of his or her suspension. However, neither the terms of the student’s subscription to Dramatics magazine nor the students paid membership status will be affected. Once a student has been submitted to the home office, their name can not be removed from the membership rolls.
-A student member must maintain satisfactory standards of membership as set forth by the constitution of the troupe and by the EdTA governing board. A student may be suspended or expelled from the troupe by the troupe director.
