St. Mary's River Project Education Club (SMRP-ed!)

SMRP (the St. Mary's River Project) is an environmental education club that works to teach local fifth-graders about the environment, with a special focus on the Chesapeake Bay.  We form teaching teams that visit elementary schools about once a week to lead lessons and hands-on activities about topics like food webs, organisms of the Bay, and the importance of wetlands. SMRP is a really fun and rewarding opportunity for anyone who's looking for teaching experience or who feels strongly about inspiring the next generation to care about the environment.
