2. Language


  • All the students are encouraged to read everyday.
  • Ask your child questions before (What do you think this story will be about?, encourage them to look at the pictures and think about what might be happening), during (Why do you think the character said that?, What do you think will happen next?) and after reading (What was your favourite part of the story? Why?) to ensure they understand what they have read.
  • It is also important to read aloud to children, even after they are able to read independently
Remember the only way to become a better reader, is to READ!

Encourage your child to practice reading and spelling their words for a couple minutes each day.  This will help them retain the words better than just practicing the night before the test.
