The Central West End (CWE) is an area that is close to school (10 minutes from school), off of Highway 40 at the Kingshighway exit. Forest Park is nearby, you can walk to the MetroLink station, and this area is filled with coffee shops, popular restaurants and bars. It is a very fun place to live with just about everything around the corner! Prices will be higher in this area and buildings probably a little older. Off street parking is a good idea.
West End Terrace
It is located in a relatively good area of the CWE. Unlike most CWE apartments, these are not located in a high rise building.
Amenities: Free off-street, gated parking included in the rent. Townhomes have washer and dryer hookups. Laundry facilities on-site, fitness room, dishwasher, central air, and swimming pool.
Advantages: Management was rated a 4. Most students like it because it is very clean and convenient. This area is located by many coffee shops which are great for studying. It is also pretty close to some bars in the CWE and not too far from the downtown nightlife.
Disadvantages: None were really stated. The price is rather high, but most living there are happy.

Reserve at Forest Park
This complex is spread out over many different buildings and hosts many different floor plans. It was formerly a part of the DeBaliviere Complex, but is now on its own. Many students do live here and seem to like it.
Amenities: The amenities will differ for each style but some include: central air, laundry in complex, swimming pool, patio/balcony (some), and dishwasher. Free street parking. Gated parking is available for a onetime $75-100 fee.
Advantages: Management was rated a 4 on scale of 1-5. They respond to maintenance problems in a timely manner. The location is very convenient and it only takes 10-15 minutes to get to school. The apartments have good sized living areas and bedrooms for the price.
Disadvantages: None were really stated. From experience, the gated parking is a must in this area so plan on that extra fee if considering any apartments in this area. The buildings may be older so utilities may be higher here. (2bed/2bath costs 130.00/month for gas, electric, phone, and recycling.)

Montclair on the Park
This building is located right on Kingshighway, next to Barnes-Jewish Hospital. There are a couple of students that have lived here and absolutely loved it. Maintenance is noted to be very timely in their response to problems and this building comes with many safety features. It is in a great location, only 7 minutes away from school and close to CWE nightlife. It is directly across from Forest Park and has close highway access.
Amenities: laundry facility in the building, central air, dishwasher, fitness room, patio/balcony on the roof, elevators, doorman, and gated parking (extra 50/month).

These apartments are very nice and located right in the heart of Maryland Street (by MPO Reilley’s (bar) and coffee shops so think about noise!) This building is located in the heart of the CWE on West Pine/Kingshighway and is much like the one above, only in a newer building. Prices increase as you get higher in the building. This one is also very nice.

Park 44 Apartments
This is an older highrise in the CWE. Located more east on West Pine than the ones above. Ask about rent increases in the past couple of years, it tends to go up here! Management at this location is great, same goes for maintenance.
Amenities: laundry facility in the building, central air, dishwasher, elevators, and patios/balconies. Street parking, or back surface lot for 25/month, or garage parking for 50/month.
