What is the National Residence Hall Honorary?
The National Residence Hall Honorary is a leadership-based honor society with an emphasis on service and recognition. It is the only nationwide organization that exclusively recognizes leaders in the residence halls; it is also considered the recognition branch of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), Inc. The opportunity to have a chapter is a service of NACURH, Inc. designed to give local, regional and national recognition to students making outstanding contributions to their campus and residence halls. NACURH firmly believes in the value of student involvement in residence hall life through community service, community building, advocacy and educational programming.
Students that make up the honor society have been selected among competitive applicants and were chosen based on their serivce, involvement, academics and committment to living and contributing to the on-campus community at Saint Louis University.
What does NRHH do?
NRHH hosts a variety of service and recognition related programs throughout the year. In October, we host Big Pink Volleyball, a fundraiser in partnership with the Learning Community Program that raises money and awareness towards breast cancer relief. Last year, we raised over $700 to donate to The Breakfast Club, a local St. Louis breast cancer relief organization that serves predominantly low-income women in St. Louis. Additionally, in November, NRHH hosted a Diamond Reception to recognize students on campus with GPAs of 3.9+. We hold annual induction ceremonies and perform service on and off campus as well.
The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is the premiere honorary supported by the leading national organization advocating for the interests and welfare of residence hall students, while also providing opportunities for their personal growth and development. NRHH strives to provide recognition for individuals who have contributed to the advancement of college and university housing. It ensures the advancement of member chapters through resource sharing, programming, and leadership development opportunities to contribute and support the vision of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Incorporated.
