(How to say my name: "En-car-nah-SHAWN")
My research is in the areas of tectonics and hard rock geology. I am a geologist who uses geochemistry and geochronology, coupled with field observations, to address tectonic and petrologic problems. I teach courses in mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry, structural geology, and tectonics, as well as introductory earth science courses. I received my Ph.D. in geology from the University of Michigan and my M.S. and B.S. degrees in geology from the University of the Philippines. Before coming to SLU, I held the Byrd Fellowship at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center at The Ohio State University.
