My research is in the areas of tectonics and hard rock geology. I use geochemistry and geochronology, coupled with field observations, to tackle tectonic and petrologic problems. I teach courses in mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry, structural geology and tectonics, as well as introductory earth science courses. I received my Ph.D. in geology from the University of Michigan and my M.S. and B.S. degrees in geology from the University of the Philippines. Before coming to SLU, I held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Byrd Polar Research Center at Ohio State University.
