My area of specialization is ethics; I have
general research interests in normative ethics (particularly Kantian ethics,
value theory, and virtue ethics), moral psychology, several areas of applied
ethics (such as environmental ethics and animal welfare), and bioethics. My research is currently focused on an
analysis of respect as a basic moral attitude (and on the role of moral
attitudes in normative ethics more generally), as well as on arguments for
bringing non-human animals more firmly inside the sphere of moral concern.
