Welcome back to our returning students! And a very warm welcome to new students!

SAC will be planning some great activities over this semester, so stay tuned. Our first meeting will be Friday, September 4 at 3 pm in the first floor lobby of Adorjan Hall.

One of the many purposes that SAC serves is to be a center of important information for graduate theology students. With that in mind, here is the information that we have so far on the language groups meeting this fall. These are casual groups of graduate students and faculty that meet together to practice reading and translating texts into English.

Ancient Greek
  • Meeting in the theology seminar room (ADJ 245)
  • Tuesdays 12:30 – 1:30
  • Translating: Testament of Levi
  • Led by: Dr. Thiessen
Intermediate Latin
  • Translating Augustine this semester
  • No preparation is needed, just sight-reading together
  • Email Alex Giltner for more information
  • Meeting in the theology seminar room (ADJ 245)
  • Fridays 11:30–12:30
  • Translating: Einführung in das Christentum by Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI)
  • Led by: Stephen Lawson
In the past, there have also been groups in Syriac (email Dr. Wickes if you are interested in this), basic Latin, and French as well. This post will be updated if we receive any information on these groups for the fall of 2015.
