I was born February 29, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Leap Day baby I’m just about old enough now for a driver’s permit and hope to have my license in a few months, provided my wife agrees to pay the insurance premiums. I always thought I wanted to become a diary farmer but about age three I was sent away to an all-male boarding school where I fell in love with languages. Eventually I became a Lutheran minister and finally ended up teaching courses in the Old Testament here at Saint Louis University. I love what I do and hope to continue at least until I reach the legal drinking age.
