Responses to SLU-AAUP Supplemental Survey

These are the responses to the survey sent out to all full-time SLU faculty on or about April 2, with responses collected up through April 9.  The survey was sent out by the Chapter president, Steve Harris, in response to a consensus from a Chapter discussion that a need existed for a survey supplemental to that issued by the Faculty Senate Climate Committee on Mar. 26.

      • Many years of service/accomplishments over 25 years...two-thirds of them still say it's time to go
      • Bad behavior has gotten much worse over the last 5-10 years
      • Time for new president is long past
      • Many issues extend to the board
      • Climate of fear, secrecy and autocratic rule
      • Disdain of faculty and students
      • Only cares about buildings
      • Made administrators' lives very difficult because they also fear for jobs
      • Hiring unqualified people for high level positions
