  • Registering for class... Registration takes place in class.  All you need to do is show up. Tuition payment and text fees are due within the first three weeks of the quarter.  Payment can be made in cash or by check made out to the Scan. Lang. Inst. / your text fees are due directly to the teacher.

  • Special events - THIS FALL As always, the Scandinavian Language Institute will be hosting two Nordisk Film Klubb events featuring films from Scandinavia.  One is planned for October 29th and another on November 24th.  The annual JULEFEST Celebration is set for Sunday, December 6th.

About SLI

Serving the Nordic Community for over 30 years.
 
The Scandinavian Language Institute offers language instruction classes to the general public in various levels of Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish.

Class levels include Beginning, Know-A-Little, Intermediate and Advanced.  These are scheduled each quarter throughout the school year.  There are both daytime & evening classes in 2 locations around the Greater Puget Sound area.

More than just an educational facility, we offer many special services to both students and the general public.

The Scandinavian Language Institute, a Washington State non-profit corporation and tax-exempt organization, is located in the Seattle Community of Ballard at the Nordic Heritage Museum, 3014 NW 67th St.. Some classes meet in Edmonds. 

The Scandinavian Language Institute gladly welcomes students of any race, color and national or ethnic origin to attend classes.
