Hello and thank you for checking out my page.

This will be the fifteeth year I have taught at Los Osos Middle School. I am lucky to work with an exciting group of students, a supportive community and a group of dynamic teachers and staff.

My science background stems from making observations about the natural world since I was a kid. I was fortunate enough that my interest and excitement for science was harnessed by my 6th grade teacher Mr. Hanson and the fact that much of my childhood was spent outdoors. Through middle school and high school, I took every science course that was offered and ended up spiting my time within the disciplines of geology and biology. I eventuality graduated from Missouri State University with a B.S. in Ed. with a comprehensive Earth Science and Biology degree.

Before I was teaching at Los Osos Middle School, I taught 6-8th grade science at Lompoc Valley Middle School for four and half years. I also taught outdoor science education for the Port San Luis Marine Institute in Avila Beach. I was also lucky enough to work for the Wild Dolphin Project in the Northern Bahamas as a first mate on the R/V Stenella. Lastly, I must say that I am pretty good with a paint brush and have painted countless houses around here on the coast.

When I am not at school, I might be found surfing the beach breaks and reefs here on the coast, mountain biking with my good friends, backpacking in the Sierras, climbing in the gym and outside. Recently I have taken up to dirtbiking and eventhough I am not very good at it, I am trying to get better.

Now that I have told you a little about me, please log off, shut down and go outside and PLAY!!!
