Welcome to Kindergarten!
Meet the Teacher!

Kathleen Cannucci
Kindergarten Teacher
Employed Since: 2012

Kathleen Cannucci has been teaching for eleven years. After working in Arts Administration, she returned to school to fulfill her life-long desire to teach. She graduated from Brooklyn College with honors from a Special Baccalaureate Program with a BA in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Children’s Studies. Kathleen continued her studies at Brooklyn College graduating Cum Laude with a Masters of Science in Early Childhood Education. Kathleen holds a NYS Professional License in Early Childhood Education.

Kathleen feels fortunate that she has been a part of SJWCA community since its inception in 2012, first teaching Pre-K and then teaching Kindergarten for the last four years. Kathleen feels that everyday is a learning experience not only for her students but for herself. “I teach because there is an excitement and joy and suspense in the journey” (Adler 2014)

Kathleen is a life-long Windsor Terrace resident. When not teaching, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Kathleen enjoys reading, traveling, visiting art museums, and taking long walks on the beach. Kathleen feels fortunate to be doing the work that she loves.
