Online courses have been offered at St. John Fisher College since the Fall of 2012 in both the fully online RN/BS program, as well as through the Summer Online Initiative. As of Spring 2015, the College has offered over 180 course sections in a fully online format by 53 unique faculty members from each of the five Schools. In support of these initiatives, over 100 faculty have completed the training activities necessary to teach online. Please review the Online Education Philosophy for a detailed description of how online courses are conducted at Fisher.

With the amount of online course offerings to date and collective faculty experience teaching their online courses through multiple iterations, it is clear that there is now an internal body of best practices and recommendations that can be shared with both future online instructors and potential online students. The goal of this site is to facilitate the conversation among current online faculty across disciplines and to collect, organize and document the existing best practices learned over the past three years of online course delivery at St. John Fisher College.

Please peruse the site either by exploring specific online course tours listed within each of the five schools or browse some general strategies for online teaching by topic using the navigation to the left.
