KIDS ONLINE INFOGRAPHIC

iPARENT
The E-Safety Commissioner has launched a new site for parents called iPARENT"... parents can learn about the digital environment and keep updated on their children’s technology use.

... you can find guidance for using safety settings on your family’s web-connected devices, tips for choosing movies and games and strategies for keeping young people safe online."

A great resource for parents and carers. The more informed we are about the latest trends and risks in the online world, the better protected our children will be.

A link to the iParent site is in the dropdown menu under CYBERSAFETY.

PARENT WORKSHOPS 2017
Our first Google Parent Workshop will cover the following content.

CALEDONIAN PRIMARY VISIT
On 5th September we had the privilege of having some visitors from a school in Ballarat. They were keen to learn about our Chromebook program and get an insight into the potential of Chromebooks in the Primary setting.

We were able to show them the 5/6s creating their own Google Sites for an Olympic assignment as well as some of the WIPPs from 5/6 and 3/4.

Aside from being a helpful and hopefully insightful experience for our visitors, it was also affirming for us to see other schools using St Joseph's as a model, and looking to implement similar programs in their schools.

NAVIGATING THE PARENT DIGITAL PLAYGROUND

GOOGLE+ COMMUNITY

Naturally there will be questions and comments you wish to make or pose to other members of the school community. The Parent Digital Playground is the perfect place to do that.

It is a community which is occupied by teachers and parents where everyone can have conversations about technology in schools.
