Exporting Gmail contacts - Gmail Help

By default, gmail sends e-mail out from your e-mail address and I'm sure most of you would like it to be sent from your e-mail address, to avoid confusion. It is possible, however, to make gmail send e-mail from your e-mail address by default.
Here's how (I encourage all of you to give this a try!):

  1. Open up your mail settings by clicking the cog wheel in the upper right hand corner.

  2. Click on the accounts tab.
  3. Click on 'Add another email address you own'

  4. Enter your e-mail address (i.e. and click 'Next Step'

  5. Click 'Send Verification'. This will send a verification e-mail to your address, but because it's forwarded, it will show up in your gmail inbox!

  6. Go to your inbox and open the message
  7. Click on the verification link.

  8. Close the window that opens and return to your mail settings (Step 1)
  9. Click on the accounts tab. (Step 2)
  10. Next to your e-mail address, click 'Make Default'.

Voila! You're go to go and with (hopefully) less confusion!
