Please find attached the High Commissioner for Human Rights Call for Submissions for a report on child, early and forced marriage in 3 languages (English, French, Spanish).
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights would be grateful if submissions could be sent by 10 September 2018, to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (United Nations Office at Geneva, CH 1211 Geneva 10; Fax. +41 22 917 90 08; Email: registry@ohchr.org, cc: couaffowafang@ohchr.org).
As much as possible, we appreciate receiving submissions limited to 5 pages (or 2,000 words); sent by email in Microsoft Word format; written in English or French, or provided with a summary in English or in French.
Please expressly indicate when the information provided cannot be made publicly available on the OHCHR website.

The 2018 Social Forum under the theme "the possibilities of using sport and the Olympic ideal to promote human rights for all and to strengthen universal respect for them"  --  from 1 to 3 October  --  Palais des Nations Room XX, Geneva, Switzerland.  OHCHR invites civil society organizations to contribute to the preparations for the Forum and welcomes their active participation in its deliberations.  Inquiries may be directed to the Secretariat of the Social Forum (socialforum@ohchr.org).
    
The secretariat of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Elaboration of Complementary Standards would like to inform that the 10th session of the AdHoc Committee has been rescheduled to take place from 8 - 19 October 2018.

New!  The Chair delegation of the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group (IGWG) on transnational corporations and other business enterprises with respect to human rights released the first draft of the legally binding instrument being negotiated ahead of the 4th session of the IGWG.

29th session of the Committee for the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families (CMW), from 3 to 12 September 2018, in Palais Wilson First Floor Conference Room, Geneva, Switzerland.  The Committee will consider the reports of Madagascar and Mozambique, and will additionally establish list of issues for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Colombia based on reports submitted, as well as list of issues under the simplified reporting procedure for Azerbaijan, Cabo Verde and Venezuela.  NGO alternative submissions/reports should be submitted by 13 August 2018 and the meeting with civil society organizations and national institutions will take place on Monday, 3 September 2018 from 11:00 to 12:00 (this meeting may start earlier).  Read more

Special Procedures
 
  
The latest special procedures communications report (A/HRC/38/54) has been released in the new format that was introduced since HRC 34 session.  All communications sent by the mandate holders individually or jointly are now available through a dedicated website (https://spcommreports.ohchr.org/).  The communications report to HRC 38 contains link to the above website that provide summaries of communications sent by the different mandate holders jointly or individually for the period 1 December 2017 to 28 February 2018 of communications and their replies received from governments until 30 April 2018.  In the period covered by the report, 154 communications were sent to 67 countries to which 80 replies were received from countries and other actors.  The report also provides update on 33 government replies received until 30 April 2018 on communications sent before 1 December 2017.
   
In view of the 20th anniversary of the UN Declaration on human rights defenders, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders has prepared a concept note that captures the ideas, key messages and activities he would like to propose for this anniversary. If you have any comment please send it to defenders@ohchr.org.
