I have called Sigourney my home since 1993 when I began my teaching career.  I am originally from Hampton, Iowa and earned degrees in Elementary Education and Learning Disabilities from the University of Northern Iowa.  I earned my masters degree in Special Education from Morningside College in 1998.  I was a Level I  teacher for 18 years,  and am currently the upper elementary Title I Reading teacher and Interventionist.

My husband, Lee, is a social studies teacher in the Jr./Sr. High School, a coach, and the activities director.  We have two boys, Tyler and Levi. They probably don't like having parents who are both teachers, but we can keep a watchful eye over them at all times!

My goal is to help all students find a love for reading.  I believe there is a book or book series for each and every child that can lure them into the world of reading.
There are many resources and supports available to help your child find a love for reading.  Check out the links I have provided to learn more, and please contact me if you have any questions.  I believe that great things can happen at Sigourney Elementary if we all work together!
